Three Questions

I see that the Empty Flight Suit has 'fessed up, and admitted that he declassified certain intelligence information to cover his sorry ass so "people could see the truth." This all coming, of course, in the context of Scooter "what kind of grownup allows himself to be called Scooter?" Libby's efforts to stay out of prison. That's all very interesting, but it leaves me with a few questions:

(1) In what sense was the information really "declassified" when it was revealed only to a few sympathetic journalists through backdoor channels, rather than being publicly disseminated?

(2) Since Scooter's problems arise from the leaking of information regarding an undercover CIA agent, and not from the leaking of the NIE that Chimpy is talking about here, who cares?

(3) What does any of this have to do with Scooter's perjury - you know, the actual crime he is alleged to have committed?

As smokescreens go, I don't think this is a particularly good one. But I'm sure that failure won't stop them from trying again.
