"Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please." (Mark Twain)
This might be the most pointless news story
not involving Ashlee Simpson ever to be published. MSNBC "reporter" Alex Johnson breathlessly indicts The Daily Show
with the headline "Fake Journalism, Real Consequences," but the consequences described therein are limited to (a) a woman who lost her job, for unknown reasons, after barely appearing on The Daily Show
(she was shown walking away from the camera); (b) a city council candidate in Mississippi named Rick James ("Bitch!") who had his campaign signs stolen, probably because of Dave Chappelle but maybe The Daily Show
had something to do with it; and (c) several people who did not notice the increase in business they expected after appearing on the program.
Wow, what a stinging indictment.
However, I do really like the phrase "highly trained comedic technicians," and I intend to use it myself in the future.
