The Hits Just Keep On Coming

The AP has done some bang-up investigative journalism, and linked DeLay's successor, Roy Blunt, to the same pattern of financial shenanigans that led to DeLay's indictments. Check it out; they even have the original documents available online for your viewing pleasure.

Now, it is not necessarily clear that Blunt's involvement rises to the level of prosecutable crimes - DeLay's problem is Texas' specific prohibition against corporate donations to political candidates, which is frabkly rather idiosyncratic (although one may wonder why the law everywhere does not embrace the same policy). So Blunt may or may not be indictable - but there is no question that he is so crooked that he can tie his shoes with his teeth.
