Quotable You!

Much controversy surrounding the American Film Institute's top 100 movie quotes, as well there should be. I believe that it would not only be possible, but actually desirable to speak entirely in quotes from movies. But the selection is deeply personal and idiosyncratic; it is absolutely the sort of thing which ought to be taken very, very seriously. Thus, while I think that they're both terribly ignorant and wrongheaded (and I mean that in a loving way), I enjoyed the reactions of Norbizness and NTodd.

For the record, my favorite movie quote comes from Fandango, when Truman Sparks (Marvin J. McIntyre) says to the acrophobic "Groover" Phil Hicks (Judd Nelson), immediately before the latter jumps out of Truman's flying VW hippy van with a sackful of laundry where his parachute's supposed to be,
Like the man said - better to go like this, than in some senseless tragedy.
