Police Blotter

I'm a defense lawyer, so I'm predisposed to applaud light sentences in criminal matters. Even so, it troubles me that four kids can beat a mentally disabled man so badly that he's crippled for life, and none of them spend a single day in jail. By the way, it may or may not be relevant that the defendants were white, the victim black, and the crime scene a small town in Texas.
