Just Because You're Dead Doesn't Mean You Can't Rock Out!

It must be a sign from beyond - only two of the 101 songs on my current I-Tunes playlist are by KISS, but "Shout It Out Loud" came on just as I tracked this story down:
The family of slain DAMAGEPLAN/ex-PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott has requested a "Kiss Kasket" (photo) for Abbott to be buried in, KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons revealed during an appearance on Fox News' "The Big Story Weekend Edition with Rita Cosby" on Saturday (Dec. 11). The coffin features the faces of the four founding members of KISS, the KISS logo and the words "Kiss Forever".

KISS, whose etiology obviously pre-dates MTV, was a precursor for MTV's visual media over music pathology. There now exists two generations of Americans who have "viewed" music. KISS has contributed nothing to the genre. They were not only so ugly they required makeup, but were also terrible musicians, singers, and songwriters. In other words, KISS sucks, and Mr. Abbotts family is diminishing his memory by associating with the KISS merchandising machine.
I'm going to break my own rule against leaving comments to my own posts to mention that this may be the first time that "etiology" and "KISS" have ever been mentioned in the same sentence.
